Genetic Modified Food Essay Topics

Genetic Modified Food Essay TopicsStudents may apply their essay writing skills to genetic modification and other genetically modified food essay topics. If you would like to put students into the same positions as the celebrities who are speaking out, ask them to write about what they want to see happen with genetically modified food. However, make sure that this question is very clearly stated. Students should be able to answer this question with confidence.Write two essays on genetically modified food and the other related food essay topics. Get together three different groups of students, so each group can write one or two essays. Write essays for students in the same class, and those in other classes with similar topics. Make sure the topics for each student are clearly stated.Soybeans are an important ingredient in many foods, including the meat, soy milk, and tofu that our children and grandchildren will need to eat. However, the problem is that these beans are genetically eng ineered. All of the important research and testing have been done for the sake of profit. This means that there will be foods that contain traces of the genetically engineered beans. So, in essence, soybeans are genetically modified.Genetically engineered crops have many critics. Environmentalists are concerned that because these crops are created by crossing a gene with another plant, you might get the same gene from a different species in a crop, a weed, or another animal. These environmentalists say that this kind of cross-breeding can result in the escape of genes, making it possible to create an animal that has a higher protein level than animals that are native to that land. Some studies suggest that genetically modified soy beans pose no health risks. They also say that genetic engineering of foods, including soybeans, might be good for the environment. So, once again, the question is whether genetically engineered soybeans should be approved by the FDA, which would mean they could be marketed to us as meat and milk. That is a debate that we may never know the answer to.The foods that we consume and the foods that we produce have an impact on the world. If we consume meat, we use the same resources that are needed to raise the cattle, to feed them, and to keep them healthy. When we raise animals, we use the same resources that are needed to keep them comfortable, healthy, and productive. Many of the meat products we consume today have a significant impact on the soil, animals, and the environment. If we were to switch to organic meat, we could protect those things that we use to feed ourselves.Genetically engineered foods are dangerous because they are not fully tested. While most of them are labeled 'natural,' some ingredients that are used in making these foods are genetically engineered. If you are a parent, do you think your child will be eating these foods? This is not the kind of food that I am talking about.Genetically engineered crops and animals are not good for the environment. If you truly care about the future of the planet, do not get involved in the argument between the environmentalists and the advocates of genetically engineered foods. Remember, they are trying to protect the profits of a multinational corporation. The fact that there are these types of arguments going on in society is a good thing. If we want to do something good for the world, it is important that we take a stand against genetically engineered foods.
